Each night, nearly 1000 people devour tens of thousands of oysters while enjoying the gold medal winners of the International Wines for Oysters Competition and grooving to some awesome tunes.

The Saturday Matinee Riot benefits the Oyster Recovery Partnership

The Saturday afternoon Matinee Riot returns for its 7th year on Saturday, November 17th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Oyster Recovery Partnership. Since it is a matinee performance, we will turn the music volume down so those who want to slurp and taste without the usual cacophany of the evening Riots can do so. Other than that it’s the same old Riot: Great Oysters! Great Wine! Great Time!

All Three Riots Benefit Potomac Riverkeeper Network

To celebrate the 24th Anniversary of the Riot, Clyde’s Restaurant Group president and self-taught painter, Tom Meyer has painted a special piece of art. This 2018 Oyster Riot Poster is a limited edition silkscreen print, numbered and signed by the artist.

Tom Meyer has been referred to as an ‘outsider’ artist. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas or board, Meyer’s paintings originate from impulses within his soul. His cast of characters that inhabit his paintings gives an account of his inner life and his imagination. They tell a story with his themes, “of redemption, forgiveness, acceptance, rejection and love,” as he has described it.
